Sonia Stein is the London based songstress serving us exciting new pop vibes, filled with emotion, soul and stunning melodies. Edged with R&B/80s pop vibes; her tracks are unexpected, exciting and unique, filled with incredible beats and stunning ballads. Another one of 2020s “one’s to watch”, Sonia’s eclectic sound and impressive vocals are definitely worth a listen and guaranteed to blow up.
Throwing it back to 2014, Sonia kicked things off with her debut release – her four track EP Symbol. With a very atmospheric, almost ethereal vibe; this EP is the perfect introduction to Sonia’s unique sound. And on tracks like Symbol, we get to hear the full power of her vocals. Since then, Sonia’s discography has grown dramatically to include some of her prominent singles such as Lotta U and Lover; to full-length records including her Ep’s One of Those Things and Eat Your Words. Even while developing as an artists; throughout her discography, Sonia retains an overall sound and aura that is distinctly hers. And throughout the projects and singles, we get an addictive eclectic sound, with different records infusing elements of indie-pop, synth, soul and acoustic vibes.
As of 2020; she released her first project of the year back in January with this being her latest EP, See Me Now. This was then followed up by the release of an acoustic single of one of the tracks off of the EP, Passerby, the following month. Stein’s latest EP comes as a follow up to her final release of 2019, London Used to Feel So Cool; a single from the EP. See Me Now is a five track EP on which she worked with producer Liam Howe. With poetic lyrics that tell tales of travel and relationships; this latest record is as ever an eclectic mix of sounds, although always coming together to produce a fundamentally Sonia Stein feel. And throughout the EP, we see a range of emotions and genres; from more dance-pop tracks such as London used to Feel So Cool, to the soul inspired melody we hear on Coexist.
