New Release: China Lane ‘In Motion’
Hailing from Manchester, China Lane are a Quartet fronted by Reuben Hester and Chloë Bebbington, Song Writers and Lead Vocalists, along with Danny Marland and Jack Lightfoot, Producers / Instrumentalists.
After forming in April 2016, they opened for ‘Heaven 17’ at Lytham Festival along with playing at ‘The great Escape’ Festival in Brighton. Their debut headline show at ‘Gulliver’s’ Manchester was a sell out where they were immediately invited to perform another sell out gig for SJM Concerts at ‘The Castle Hotel’ Manchester.
China Lane’s debut release ‘Marco Polo’ has currently received over 120,000 Spotify plays in just the space of 4 months with no backing and only self promotion.
Having been added to “The best of introducing mix tape” on BBC RADIO 6 Music and championed by BBC Introducing Manchester. China Lane were also added to various different YouTube channels including ‘Wave of good noise’
Their latest music is being described as Synth Powered, Funky Pop. Similarities being mentioned to the likes of London Grammar, Empire of The Sun and The 1975 with a retro edge being compared to some legendry bands including New order and The Pet Shop boys.
After recently performing at the invite only ‘SOFAR SESSIONS’ in Manchester, the interest from the industry and music fans is rapidly building.
China Lane are completely independent and spend every available minute writing and producing their own music.
‘IN MOTION’ is their latest single which was the first song the band wrote together.
Having little to no money at the time they produced and recorded everything in Reuben’s bedroom, where a lot of the music was made on a daily basis! The inspiration for the song at the time came from the energetic feeling of being youthful and full of life.
“We really wanted to find a way to make people listen to the song and feel how we felt while writing it.”
