INTRODUCING: SUMMER BANTON

After teasing new music earlier this year with What’s the Move; South-East London, R&B/soul, singer-songwriter Summer Banton unveils her brand new Afrobeats fuelled single, Go AwayReleased at the end of last month, the bubbly summer track fuses R&B and dancehall vibes while showing off Summer’s modulated vocal talents. The thumping and addictive bassline that runs throughout is a nod to Banton’s South London roots, where the production style has become an emblematic part of the London contemporary music scene.

Go Away is all about getting rid of bad vibes, embracing positive energy and living your best life! I’ve always wanted to create an R&B track inspired by Afrobeats, so Go Away brings together two of my favourite genres perfect for the Summertime!”

Kicking the track off with an energetic and upbeat instrumental intro, Banton truly comes through with the sound of Summer, with addictive Afrobeats and positive energy in tow; but still remaining true to her R&B and Soul roots. All about living your best life, and definitely projecting the best kind of vibes, the track has a mellow and easy-listening energy. And with Summer’s dreamy and effortless vocals coming thorough, this song is one that makes you want to listen on repeat all summer long!

Definitely one of 2020’s “ones to watch”, with her achievements including her debut single We’re Cool making the A-List on RINSE FM, and being named BBC Introducing’s ‘Featured Artist’; Summer is for sure one of todays emerging artists.
