Halsey has been a recording artist under Astralwerks Record label since 2014 after her song “Ghost” was posted on Soundcloud which gained a huge amount of attention. She was quick to move and later that year released her EP “Room 93” in October 2014, the EP was later re-released in 2015 featuring a new version of Ghost. She has since gone on to support the likes of The Kooks and Imagine Dragons on tour before releasing her Debut Album “Badlands” in August 2015.
It rocketed to number 2 in the US Charts and number 9 in the UK. Her music has been described as Electropop and has influences from the likes both The Notorious B.I.G and Nirvana.
Halsey has been seen sometimes as too unique however her childhood can be thanked for this. As a child she moved around to many different schools and so realised there wasn’t time to make friends, people needed to know her from the get go. This has positively influenced her music and her image which we can say has only added extra determination to the 21 year old. Her music is real and that’s what people want and like, she writes and the meaning behind each song comes alive.
Since then there has been no stopping one of the most vocally unique artist of 2015. It was recently announced she would be playing the Coachella Festival 2016 on Saturday the 16th and 23rd of April. She is going from strength to strength with her tour starting in January only 3 of the 15 shows haven’t yet sold out, were guessing this won’t be long at all. Without a doubt Halsey will be BIG in 2016…
