EBONY DAY: THE STORY SO FAR.
You may know Ebony Day from her fabulous YouTube family vlogging channel, Our Tiny Tribe, which she does with her fiancée David. However, if you have only recently began following her and are new to the party, only knowing her for her vlogs, you may not know about her Incredible voice and musical journey.
Back in 2009 before becoming a mum and vlogger, Ebony began posting covers on YouTube, with her first cover being Jason Derulo’s Whatcha Say. With her bubbly personality and distinctive voice her audience grew rapidly, with her gaining over 20,000 subscribers on YouTube by the end of the following year. Over the next few years as her channel and audience grew, she began gaining some incredible opportunities, performing along side artists such as Rizzle Kicks and The Saturdays in 2012
2013 was a major year for Ebony which began with bang when she won the MTV’s Brand New Artist competition and the chance to perform at their MTV showcase. That September, she also released her first EP, The Beginning; A four song project with an infectious uptempo pop vibe and classic ‘Ebony Day’ sound. Following this, she supported Boyce Avenue on the UK leg of their tour the next year, and performed along side Union J and many others at the Pop Shack Live event at the London O2 Arena.
However following this, Ebony decided to take a break from music and focus on YouTube. Beginning a second vlogging channel at the start of 2016, she started growing her online audience and moving into the vlogging realm; soon bringing her boyfriend David along with her on the journey. Now growing her main channel along with her new vlogging channel, Ebony soon began to build even more connections within the YouTube scene and establish her own space as a YouTube content creator, collabing with the likes of Lucy & Lydia and Sophie Louise as well as posting the occasional cover. In 2017, Ebony and her fiancee David announced that they were expecting their first child, and soon after turned her second channel into a family vlogging channel (Our Tiny Tribe) where they have been posting adorable and relatable vlogs of pregnancy, moving, travel, and daily life as new parents, ever since.
Back to music, however. Since early this year, Ebony has been getting back into posting covers, covering artists from the 1975 to the Weeknd to Bazi to Ariana Grande. While not being original songs, Ebony always seems to bring her own distinctive sounds and vocals to the track. Generally going for a slower, more melodic acoustic sound; this, along side her silvery vocals, will definitely have you all in your feelings and make her tracks perfect to relax and chill to. Now being settled and near a studio, following her recent move, Ebony has been back posting more regular weekly covers on her own separate channel which means we should definitely be able to expect a whole lot more of her incredible vocals coming soon in the near future.
So definitely go and give Ebony’s covers a listen, and keep an eye out for new up coming covers being posted, to see her work her magic on some incredible tracks. And don’t forget to check out her original music as well which shows off her stunning vocals and just has an all round positive and mellow vibe, which is definitely what we all need this time of year!
